Terms of service

1. Agreement

By creating an account with Zeerga, you agree to these terms. If you're using Zeerga on behalf of an organization, you confirm you're authorized to bind that organization to these terms.

2. The service

Zeerga provides end-to-end encrypted cloud storage and synchronization. We agree to provide the service with reasonable care and 99.9% monthly uptime, measured at our public status page. You agree to use it lawfully and responsibly.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password and recovery phrase safe. Because of our zero-knowledge architecture, we cannot recover account access if both are lost — your files become permanently inaccessible. Please store recovery information securely.

You must be at least 16 years old (or the digital-consent age in your country) to register.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use Zeerga to store or distribute content that violates applicable law, infringes others' rights, or contains malicious code. Specifically, you agree not to:

• Distribute child sexual abuse material — we will report this to authorities immediately.
• Use the service to send unsolicited bulk communications.
• Attempt to disrupt or compromise our infrastructure or other users' accounts.
• Resell or sublicense the service without our written permission.

If we discover violations, we may suspend the account and (where applicable) cooperate with law enforcement. Because we can't read your file contents, enforcement is limited to metadata-level signals and reports from third parties.

5. Payment and refunds

Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from account settings; access continues until the end of the paid period. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on first-time annual Business plans — write to billing@zeerga.com.

6. Intellectual property

You retain all rights to the files you store. We claim no ownership over your content. The Zeerga software, brand, and infrastructure are our intellectual property; nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you.

7. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of section 4 or non-payment, with prior notice where reasonable.

On termination, your encrypted blobs are erased within 30 days. Make sure to export anything you need before deleting.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is." We make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim arose. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or anything else that can't be waived under applicable law.

9. Disputes & governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of our jurisdiction of incorporation. Disputes are resolved first through good-faith negotiation, then through binding arbitration in our jurisdiction. EU-resident consumers retain rights under their local consumer protection law regardless.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes are emailed to account-holders and posted at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the changes.
